Your First Game of Go

Go is a strategy game, thousands of years old, in which two players build territory, taking turns placing white and black stones on the board. In classical East Asian culture, it was considered one of the "four arts" of a cultured person, alongside music, painting and calligraphy.

The rules are simple and can be understood quickly, but each game becomes a challenge: where is the best move, what happens if I rush and how can I find a better idea?

The child pauses, observes, compares options and discovers that every choice has consequences. Without feeling like they are doing a formal exercise, they train their attention, patience, logical thinking, creativity and ability to plan.

Go teaches children that a mistake is not the end of the road, but a change of plan. On the board, as in life, what matters is to stay attentive, understand what has changed and find the next good move.
